The BIC register shows a single owner code for Korea Marine Transport Co.: KMTU. What trips people up is that the same four letters double as the carrier’s SCAC — so KMTU is correct both stenciled on steel and typed into a US customs filing, while “KMTC” (the brand name) is valid in neither system.
Cargo booked with KMTC can still arrive in leased paint — a BEAU or TCLU box on a KMTC voyage tracks by its own number on the portal, since events follow the operator, not the owner code.
