About ContSize
ContSize is a reference on shipping container dimensions, weights and capacity, published in English, Spanish and Russian. It exists because the topic is scattered across sales sites that quote figures casually — we treat container specs the way an engineer would.
Methodology. The baseline is ISO 668 (size classifications and ratings) and ISO 6346 (markings). Where the standards leave room — tare weights, internal dimensions that vary by manufacturer — we cross-check the published specification sheets of major carriers (Maersk, Hapag-Lloyd, CMA CGM) and state typical values, marked as such. Every table and diagram on this site renders from a single machine-readable dataset, so a correction propagates everywhere at once.
Accuracy policy. When a figure on this site disagrees with the CSC plate of your specific container, the plate wins — units vary by production year and factory. Found an error? Email data@contsize.com and we will verify against primary sources and fix it site-wide.
Open data. The complete specification dataset behind this site is freely available as JSON and CSV. Reuse it with attribution to contsize.com.
Independence. ContSize does not sell or broker containers and carries no advertising. Data pages have no commercial incentive to round numbers optimistically.

ContSize is built and maintained by Yuri Kan, a web engineer based in Israel. He started the project after one too many freight quotes that disagreed with each other on what should be fixed, standardised numbers.
