What ContSize is and who it is for
ContSize is a free reference on shipping container dimensions, weights and capacity in which every figure is checked against the ISO standard or against 88 published specification sheets, and each figure says how sure it is.
It is for anyone who has to fit cargo into a container: shippers, forwarders, buyers of used boxes, writers who need a figure they can cite. The dimensions chart gives every size at once; the 3D load planner and the other calculators run in your browser on the same data.
Who makes ContSize: Yuri Kan, who reads every sheet
Yuri Kan is a web engineer based in Israel. He started ContSize after one too many freight quotes that disagreed on figures a standard should have fixed, and he writes and checks every page himself.
What he checked: he found and read the 308 documents behind the site and wrote down 5,250 readings, each figure with its place in the document; the site compares every figure it publishes with them. He checked each of the 85 owner prefixes in the BIC register and tested the lines’ trackers with a real container number for the tracker study.
He is not a terminal operator or a surveyor: what the site says rests on the documents it names, not on titles. To reach him about a figure: data@contsize.com.
How ContSize checks a container figure before it is published
The outside of a container is set by ISO 668, which we read in the free official texts that adopt it (IS 6566:2001 and ГОСТ Р 53350-2009); codes and markings by ISO 6346. Everything the standard leaves to the maker — the inside, the door, the tare, the volume — is checked against 88 sheets of 30 lines, lessors and makers, and each of the 191 figures carries its status: set by the standard, confirmed, a range or one sheet. Independence: no ads, no sales and no ties to the companies named
ContSize is owned and run by Yuri Kan. It does not sell, lease or broker containers and carries no advertising, and it is not affiliated with any of the lines, lessors or makers it names.
The site asks only for an email address, in exchange for a free pack of the tables and container sheets; the letter, at most once a month, is a separate unticked box. What we keep: the privacy page.
Open data: reuse the figures and cite the dataset
Everything on this site — text, figures, drawings and data files — is published under CC BY 4.0 (Creative Commons Attribution): reuse it freely, commercially too, on one condition — credit ContSize with a link to the contsize.com page you took it from.
The dataset behind every table can be downloaded as containers.csv and containers.json, with every reading in evidence.json and the files, their licence and their dates listed in index.json. Its version is the date it last changed: 22 October 2026.

Corrections: how to report an error and what happens next
Found a figure that contradicts a primary source? Email data@contsize.com with the page, the statement you believe is wrong and the document that supports the correction — a standard, a line’s specification sheet or a register entry; a listing or a forum post is not a source. We check it against the documents, and a confirmed fix goes out with the next deploy on every page that shows the figure. Each fix is logged with its date and what the page said before. Where this site and the plate on your own container disagree, the container wins.

Every page is in English, Spanish and Russian; French has a core of the sizes, types, main guides and calculators, and a link to a page it lacks says it is in English. The French has not yet been read by a native speaker: report a mistake there like any other.
