Vanguard Logistics Container Tracking
Open the tracker at portal.vanguardlogistics.comThis tracker requires an account — the checker below works without one.
Vanguard Logistics tracking runs through its ADESSO portal, which requires an account and keys on the house bill of lading Vanguard issued you rather than on a container number. Vanguard is a neutral LCL consolidator, not a shipping line: it groups less-than-container loads from many shippers into boxes owned by ocean carriers and leasing companies. Your cargo may share a container with a dozen other consignments, which is exactly why the container number alone cannot tell Vanguard which shipment is yours.
Less-than-container-load freight has a tracking problem that full-container freight does not. Your goods occupy part of a box that is not yours, alongside cargo that is not yours, booked by a company that does not own it either.
Vanguard sits at the centre of that arrangement as one of the largest neutral consolidators in the trade, and its tracking reflects the structure: it tracks consignments, not containers.
4 letters + 7 digits, printed on the doors. It is on your bill of lading too.
The answer appears as you type. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Is Vanguard Logistics a carrier?
It is a consolidator rather than a vessel operator. Vanguard buys space from ocean carriers, fills containers with cargo from multiple customers at its own CFS facilities, and issues each customer a house bill of lading covering their portion.
“Neutral” in this context means Vanguard sells to freight forwarders and does not compete with them for end customers. It changes who buys the service, not who owns the equipment — the container is still the carrier’s or the lessor’s.
Why there is no Vanguard container prefix
A BIC owner prefix is issued to whoever owns containers. Vanguard does not own them, so no prefix is registered to it, and any site that offers you a “Vanguard container prefix” is describing something that does not exist.
The box your pallet is standing in belongs to whichever line Vanguard bought the slot from. Run its number through the checker and you will get the registered owner, though be aware that the owner’s tracker will show the movement of the whole container — not the status of your consignment inside it.
Tracking an LCL shipment in practice
Use the house B/L in the Vanguard portal for anything that concerns your cargo specifically: CFS receipt, loading, arrival, availability for pickup. These are the events that exist only in the consolidator’s system.
Use the container number on the ocean carrier’s site for the sea leg: vessel, departure, transhipment, discharge. The two views answer different questions, and an LCL shipper generally needs both.
One timing quirk catches people out. An LCL consignment is usually not visible anywhere until it has been received into the origin CFS and assigned to a container, which can be days after booking.

Vanguard is a neutral LCL consolidator and does not appear in the BIC register as a container owner. Tracking is keyed to the house bill of lading it issues, not to a container prefix of its own.

Frequently asked questions
Is Vanguard Logistics a shipping line?
No — it is a neutral LCL consolidator that buys container slots from ocean carriers and issues house bills of lading, without operating vessels or owning containers.
What is the Vanguard Logistics container prefix?
There is none: BIC prefixes are issued to container owners, and Vanguard owns no containers. The box carrying your cargo has the prefix of the line or lessor that owns it.
Do I need an account to track a Vanguard shipment?
Yes — Vanguard tracking sits inside the ADESSO portal, which requires a login. Validating the container number and identifying its owner needs no account and can be done in the checker on this page.
Why does my Vanguard container show other people’s cargo movements?
Because an LCL container holds consignments from several shippers, so the carrier’s tracking shows the movement of the whole box. Only the house bill of lading in Vanguard’s system tells you about your own goods.
