Why the box says SUDU and the tracker says Maersk
SUDU stayed with the boxes when Hamburg Süd became part of Maersk. Today the register lists it under the same company as Maersk's other codes, MAEU, MRKU, MSKU, PONU, SEAU, MNBU and MRSU, and all of them are tracked in the same place.

If Maersk's tracker does not find it
- Read the four letters again: SDDU (SeaCube Containers, from the register alone) is one letter from SUDU.
- Work the check digit: a single wrong character among the eleven fails it, and the check-digit calculator tells you whether yours passes.
- Search with your bill of lading number instead; the tracker takes it.
- Still nothing: ask whoever issued your bill of lading. The line on it is the one that moves the box, and it may not be Maersk.
